Homework? Well, I guess that’s okay. As long as I get an A! (Ah, the perfectionist in me.) Anyway, I met with my new therapist today. I like her. She doesn’t seem physically, emotioanlly or intellectually threatening. She didn’t dismiss or discount anything that I said which was a welcome change.

My homework before my next appointment with her:

    1. Research the stages of grief.
    2. Research the different anxiety/panic disorders.
    3. Write a letter to Munchkin with the premise of “If I Knew Then What I Know Now” that also acknowledges the current good in her life.

So, one and two will be fine. Three? Shoot. That’ll take a draft or ten. (Again, the perfectionist in me.) She also advised me not to write it on a day that J is working a twenty-four hour shift because it’s bound to stir up some emotions that I don’t need to be left alone with ALL day. See, smart Woman.

I do, however, have an appointment next week with one of the Docs to see if I, perhaps, need some anti-anxiety medication. It’s possible. My anxiety level is through the ROOF. So, that’s that for the day. I’m glad I found her. And had the balls to go today. I really, really almost chickened out.

Glad I didn’t.

  1. Sounds like a good chance for a connection with this therapist.

Now, then stick with it, girl (look who’s talking *lol*)

  2. Yay!!!! I am so glad you found a therapist who sounds like she has a brain. Lord knows I (under another name) had no luck finding one for you! This one sounds good though – even to know that “grief” is what you need to work on! Plus, I am glad that you are considering some meds possibly too. You sound like a cool mom – and I would like to see you in as good a shape as possible!

  3. Why am I slow to realize who people are on teh intraweb? LOLZ.

I have the potential to be a cool Mom. I also have the potential to really suck if I don’t get my ass in gear. So, I’ll go with getting my ass in gear. ;)
