My writing here may become a little less frequent. Beyond being part of the BlogHer network on the family blog, I’ve just accepted a blogging position with Adoption.com. So, in essence, I need to focus all of my energies on the writing that pays for my internet so that I can continue writing. ;)
I will post here still, often linking to the adoption blog. But content there must be original so it first has to go there and then I can feel free to link and discuss further. And if you have an idea for me to cover, as I’m writing from the firstparent in open adoption view, please feel free to drop me a line or idea. Or links to good blogs to read. Or links to articles on adoption. You get my point.
I swear, folks, quitting my job has been the best decision I have ever made. Whoodathunkit?

I have this wonderful book, Adoption Nation, and it has some great information about firstmothers and I need to get ahold of it — breaks down the stereotypes about what kinds of women are firstmoms.
It was published in 2000 so I don’t know if there are more recent stats, but actually we have the book here at my work too. If it’s in, I’ll see if I can find what I’m thinking about (unless my brain has transposed information from one book to another which is possible).

Judy; I just ordered Adoption Nation from Amazon Marketplace for $0.75 and another book that I’m sure will tick me off (it’s by an adoption attorney) for $0.02. I should have them soon and hope to get them read before October. Thanks for the suggestion!! :)

$0.75!! Cool!! Adam Pertman — the author of the book — is just WAY COOL to me! I just emailed you with some some stuff from it. I doubt there would be any way of doing this, but if I had my druthers, I would love to work for him or at the least his institute (Donaldson Adoption Institute) in my next career (HA!!) when I retire from this one (HA! HA!!). When I told one friend this, she suggested instead helping people adopt. Not that doing that isn’t a noble thing too, but I think enough people do that. I want to do something like The Adoption Institute. Ahhhhhh, pipe dreams!!!
And no, not Polish, just like saying goofy things. like tipperooski. That’s a cute one.
