"May the love hidden deep inside your heart find the love waiting in your dreams. May the laughter that you find in your tomorrow wipe away the pain you find in your yesterdays."

This blog is neither pro-adoption nor anti-adoption. This is merely the story of a mother and her journey towards healing.

Camera-less-ness and Meetings

I’m without a camera for two weeks… and that’s an optimistic length of time. I feel lost.

I got to hang out at Dawn’s house for a few hours with a happy-to-cranky-to-happy baby. I swear, teething sucks. Thankfully, Dawn didn’t seem to mind. Madison is a doll and BigBrother loves Noah’s facial expressions. He also likes the name Noah when said as, “Nooooooo-UH!” He thinks it is funny.

Dawn and I talked about quite a few things while chasing children, saying no and laughing in general. I must say that she ranks as one of my favorite “met in real life” internet people. Sorry, but the Husband wins that category. (Oh! Little known facts.) I felt very relaxed with Dawn, even if my child was trying to bite me, press the button on the carbon monoxide detector and occasionally tossing himself on the hardwood floor, mid-tantrum. (See? Toddler drama.) Conversation didn’t feel forced. We just plopped ourselves on the floor and talked. We shared some bits and pieces of personal stories that have been lost, forgotten or not shared in public arenas. We talked about Allison Quets, adoption.com forum drama and other current happenings of adoption. It was just freaking nice, okay? She’s a normal, everyday human being who happens to be a Mamma who happens to be touched by adoption. And it was just nice.

Though we forgot to talk about writing. Pfft. Oh well. I forsee more trips to the area as I’m starting to get over my paralyzing fear of C-bus traffic. Eesh; rush hour wasn’t too bad. BigBrother was asleep before 70. Good stuff.

All said and done, it was a good day with good company. We did agree that Madison and Munchkin would have a good time together. Though, with two slightly… uhm… dominant? … personalities, we may have a few arguements but hey, isn’t that what being a kid is about?

Anyway, I’m cooler than you are by association. Rock. Who’s next on my to-meet list?

I Win.

I’m going to meet Dawn today. Yes, The Dawn. And you’re not. I WIN!

I’m headed to the Big City because our camera funked out on us (*insert weeping*) so I need to take it back to Best Buy so it can be shipped off for servicing (since they don’t have a freaking mail off program). And then I’m headed to meet Dawn. We’ve been trying to plan something for a couple of months but the holiday-slash-birthday season kicked me in the rear end. Hardcore.

I need to shower. And pack bananas for picky-eater. Picky-eater? Oh, toddler drama!
