I visited in the summers (they lived with my dad and their mom and I lived with my mom) and the truth is I am closer with them than with the brother I grew up with. It is just a personality thing, but I know that their mom and my dad worked hard to make sure they ALWAYS remembered that I was their sister. So, I am sure he will grow up to be very close with his sister. I lived in NY, while they live in Florida - distance makes no difference now that we can all use the phone.:) It is not the same, I suppose, but I have a brother and sister who are 13 years younger than me and I have never lived with.
