Judy passed away yesterday evening.
2007: Me, pregnant with LB, Dawn and Judy, a few months before her initial diagnosis.
As with anyone who dies, there are things left unsaid. And so…
Thank you, Judy, for the laughs.
Thank you for the books for my sons; so many of the ones you bought became fast-and-forever favorites.
Thank you for being snarky.
Thank you for accepting me.
Thank you for your voice.
Thank you for learning and growing.
Thank you for your ear, your shoulder.
Thank you for the emails, the comments, the tweets, the connection.
Thank you for days on the beach, even if it was in the middle of Ohio.
Thank you for befriending my mom.
Thank you for loving my family.
Thank you for touching my life.
Thank you for being you, Judy.
And thank you for such an eloquent tribute. Judy is much missed. What an amazing woman.

I am so sorry for the holes cancer keeps leaving in the world, but at the same time I am so grateful for the souls who burned them with their beauty, wisdom and grace.
Thinking of Judy and all the souls left missing her.

I’m sure all of us have such a list in our minds of wonderful, kind, sweet, caring, funny, snarky things that Judy said to us or did for us.

I am heartbroken to read this. Judy’s blog was one of the very first I ever started reading when we started thinking about international adoption way back when LJ was the place for blogging. I always enjoyed her snarky funny blog and librarian stories. I had been checking her blog for an update during November and was wondering how she was doing. It seems like things must have gone downhill so fast. I am so sad for husband and son. Do you know how they are doing? They will surely be in my thoughts and prayers. I am still so shocked.
